Paul McLoone (born 11 February 1967 in Derry, Northern Ireland), is the current singer of Irish pop-punk band The Undertones. He replaced Feargal Sharkey when the band reunited for a series of festival appearances in 1999.[1] McLoone presents a weekday evening programme on Today FM radio.

McLoone, a native of Derry's Bogside, has been employed by the radio industry since his late teens, having been involved in various programmes for the BBC, including his own satirical sketch series McLoone which ran for three series in the early '90s on BBC Radio Foyle.
In March 1999, he moved to Dublin to produce The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show for Today FM. During his tenure as series producer, he co-created and co-wrote Gift Grub for five years until leaving Today FM in 2004. He returned to the station two years later to produce Tom Dunne's show (then called Pet Sounds).
When Tom Dunne left Today FM in August 2008 to take up a day-time position at Newstalk 106, McLoone took over as presenter. He then moved to Today FM and now presents his own music show (simply known as Paul McLoone) which goes out from 7-10 p.m. Monday to Thursday on Today FM.
McLoone has also been involved in the world of animation, as a writer and creative consultant on the Jam Media series Funky Fables, and the forthcoming Badly Drawn Roy (both for CBBC). McLoone can also be heard providing the voice of "Baboon" in the Cartoon Saloon series Skunk Fu.
McLoone was invited to join The Undertones for some festival appearances in 1999. He has recorded two studio albums with the band, Get What You Need (2003) and Dig Yourself Deep (2007). The Undertones' live following remains strong, with most fans fully accepting McLoone as the band's new frontman.[2]
